Hello gentlemen.

Being a noob, I've built a veroboard version of a popular pedal and my problem is as the title suggests, a rather loud pop when I engage the circuit. I've been searching for a few days on ways to remedy this problem, and I'm not sure of the mechanics of this problem in relation to the build I have. I'd like to not only fix the issue in my build, but learn what it is causing the problem and thus how to keep it out of future projects of mine. Please bear with me.

Here is the layout of what I have

Are you sure it is the LED circuit? Disconnect the LED from V+ and try the pedal. Does it still pop? If so, then it is not the LED.

From the drawing that you linked, I would change one thing and that is to connect the ground wire from the pcb directly to the power jack and do not share any ground wiring with the LED/switch connections.

All 3PDT switches are not created equal and some just make more pop than others.  :(

Best regards, Jack
