2SC536 equivalent: NOT used for fuzz

I'm building out another Ibanez CS-505 Chorus and it uses a few 2SC536SP trannies.

I've used NTE85's successfully in the past, but is there something more readily available?
Wondering if I can use 2N5088/89's, but if the hfe might be too high?

Going by your schematic http://www.4thlevelmedia.com/smallpics/CS505schem_highlight.pdf non of them are being used for anything weird so 2N5088/89s or any general purpose NPN should work fine.
