wiring a tube just for light

If you want to use tubes as a light source you have to use the right ones. EL84 won't work properly.

I already got one but never tested it. Still searching for a transformer with 12V 10,5A :icon_lol:


And back to topic: Always connect the voltage to the heater that is specified in the datasheet for normal use. For use as a light source you could use less voltage but I would never use more as specified. As already mentioned connect two EL84 in row to divide the voltage to 6V per tube and everything should work fine.

ok I put 6.3V DC on pin 4,5 and now it glows :)
experiment ended.
