Hello Diyer's All !

This is about a rebuilt of a precedent model which was that :

A double single-transistor-plus-diode-clipper overdrive. Not bad, but not so amazing.

I decided to go for something more useful. Here's the 2016 version of the IBM Overdrive :

It is a combination of a Ge single transistor overdrive plus Ge diode clipper = the 1st pot on the left and the 3 selectors, with the well known ProCo RAT Distortion model 1981 Revision B = the 3 following pots.

You can switch the overdrive, or the RAT, or both, the overdrive being placed in front position.

At the flick of a footswitch, you can have "sweet spot bluesy" overdrive or "from Santana to heavy" distortion.

Is there a drawback ? Yes, a little one : when the overdrive is engaged, the RAT also engaged with high distortion and low filter settings (= hight treble content), the hiss of the Ge transistor becomes a bit audible - even if this one has been accurately sorted in IceO leaks and noise. Of course, with a Si transistor, that would not occur, but the tests that I have made showed a "harder" tone, so...

The only thing remaining from the 1st version is the IBM France nameplate  :icon_mrgreen:

Nice to see someone use the trapezoidal Hammond boxes.  I think they look nice.

Thank you, Guys !

Yes, the Hammond trapezoidal shape boxes can allow interesting 50s-60s styling pedals. I think that I'll be back to them for other stompboxes releases in the future.
