I have built several designs into a 1590B and have a template I worked out years ago. Now I'm itching to shrink some stuff down. It took some trial an error before to figure out the best placement for seitches , pots and power connectors. Has anyone else gone down this road and has tips or templates (I use Eagle)? One of the projects I want to do is A straight up Ross clone in that size. I have seen one on eBay so I know it can be done even with through hole components:

Very tight though.

If you forego an input jack and stompswitch, it's easy!  :icon_mrgreen:

Dang!  And carbon comps too!  You could skip the Attack (Release?) control, and associated LEDs, and have more room than that builder did.  Also, if you went Dynacomp instead of Ross, fewer components still.

Lots to be taken away from Madbean's 1590a build document.

Exactly where I was gonna point you and Dave beat me to it.

Floor-mat at the front entrance to my former place of employment. Oh... the irony.

of course, for >=3 pots you use 9mm, yeah? using tayda 9mm pots? just cut the leg.
and if you ask, why dc jack in side? just old habit, and have two option :P
