Using this layout. It's a bit different from the schematics I see but works correctly.

A couple things I want to tweak.

The low resonance is way too strong. The wah enclosure I used has a very wide travel so the sweep can be set very long. But it gets too distorted heel down. Feeds back low tones. Upper 2/3 of the sweep is very good. Normal wah sound. The low end is too much. It sounds good behind a fuzz, synth like. That's something nice but want to narrow that range.

This layout boosts the gain quite a bit. Need to keep it more unity. That alone might fix the first issue.

Should be able to change just a couple resistors and maybe a cap to get closer to a Vox or Crybaby?

I notice 9v goes straight into the second transistor. Most wahs have a resistor there. Not sure how that affects the sound.

Do you have an actual schematic?  It's very hard (for me) to follow a layout.

It's very close to this. A couple things switched. Basic wah minus some resistors.
