I'm in the process of trying to make my own patchbay for my pedalboard. It's a simple aluminum enclosure with 4 in jacks on one side and 4 out kacks on the other. The jacks are Neutrik NYS2122 and everything is wired with 24AWG wire. When I tested the patchbay there is a huge signal loss. Unless I crank my amp no sound can be heard. I can't seem to figure out the problem. Can anyone help? Below are picture of the enclosure.

Those jacks are switching ones, the tabs on one side of the jacks get disconnected when you insert a plug and the ones on the other side connect to the plug when you insert it. It looks like you're using some of the wrong tabs which is why you're getting no sound.

You need to use the tabs that you can see in this picture, the ones that fold over the top, if you're not sure plug a plug in and you'll be able to see which tabs it touches.
