I recently acquired a handful of these little friends here

I thought it would be nice to tone down the part count in circuits that need EQing.

Has any of you used those in a project? If so: Are they cool? What's your opinion?

I started working on a little EQ pedal project some time back, but I forget whether I was using the ROHM chip or one of those KIA2223 chips.  I'd look for it now, but I'm a few thousand miles away from my projects drawer.

If a person used the little 9mm pots, and wss able to do the machining of a 1590BB or larger, I think these would make a terrific little tone preset box.  Say, perf or vero three of these into a box, with a 3-position rotary switch and a stomp for bypass (or a 4-position rotary), and you'd have three preset tones and bypass.

If you felt like it, one 5-band could be for rhythm tones, one for leads, and one for distorted leads.  And the resonant bands would not have to be the same for each function.  For example, the bands used for distorted leads could be clustered in the upper mids and lower treble, and the bands used for rhytm could be spread out more.

Alternatively. consider making yourself a scaled back form of something like the Akai G-Drive ( http://www.effectsdatabase.com/model/akai/pedals/d2g ) that had pre- and post distortion EQ.

RG has a comment on this.
I bought the chip. It's oddly shaped - a DIP that's more like a SIP with an extra set of legs, slightly offset. Will not go into perf, but one could etch a pcb.

I've used these many times. They make a descent 5 band EQ. Depending on the application an additional input buffer may be necessary.
