Howdy,

my head is spinning from part numbers and spec sheets and mixed up terminology... I am looking for a straightforward thing: a panel-mount 1/4 inch TRS jack (or if you want to be picky about words, socket... the female part... you know...) that is isolated from chassis.  I know that I can stick in a shoulder washer but I'd prefer to have a part that just doesn't have that connection, internally.

Anybody know one that is in current production?  Why is this such a hard thing to find?  Or am I just being an idiot and missing something obvious?  .... grrr....

Dang, you robbed me of being able to suggest shoulder washers. (It's what I use.)

This is a Neutrik NYS212 stereo plastic nut jack:

Pretty sure this has solder lugs, you can look it up on Mouser as well to get the datasheet.

Neitrik M series and "slim jacks" and the many knock offs of them.

Plastic body with inserted contacts and fittings, and a variety of bushing choices.

Mouser probably has stock on some.

There are other makers as well.

In response to the questions in the forum - PCB Layout for Musical Effects is available from The Book Patch. Search "PCB Layout" and it ought to appear.

Fantastic - thank you both!  Indeed, the NYS2212 looks like just the thing... I think I'd passed over it thinking it lacked solder lugs, but it has them.  Perfect.
