Yesterday I was messing around with this design on breadboard:


Used 2N5088 instead the MPSA18 listed.
At first try, not as good fuzz: glitched and very very gated. Just what you can ear on demos.

I swapped the 5088' to a MPSA13 (Darlington)... and voilĂ !
Now this thing sounds really good: compressed, nice distortion/fuzz.
To you, buffered bypass sucks tone.
To me, it sucks my balls.

What did you use for the pnp?
Ma throats as dry as an overcooked kipper.

2N2907, and tried there 2N3906: the same result.
There's not much hfe's difference.
To you, buffered bypass sucks tone.
To me, it sucks my balls.
