Dunlop Mini Volume (X) Question

I have a couple questions about the Dunlop Mini Volume + expression pedal for anyone out there that owns one.

I am interested in using it as both volume and expression, but there doesn't appear to be a way to switch the functionality (ie, footswitch). How hard would it be to mod one of these so that there is a stomp switch to make the outputs exclusive of each other? Or is there another way to get around this I haven't thought of?
