So Ben, you made a 20% correction of C6 value for a 4% altering due to C11 ...  :icon_eek:

nice work ben, i can't wait to hear it bro!
the only caveat i've found with dc coupling is sometimes it will smoke a pot or a resistor. i tend to use caps to minimize it, or try to minimize it. which leads to about 345 failures to every 1 circuit i figure is ok to let other folks mess with. ;)
swiping your schems to add to the archive... 66,000 some odd now in there!!
THATS A LOT OF  #FUZZYGOODNESS!!!

Didn't notice "smoking" but DID notice "scratchy" behavior..  :icon_wink:

Ya, you're right! LOL, it was the only cap I had but it wasn't meant as a correction, it was just simply meant to make the tone control sound better. It's actually a change that I made a while ago but didn't get around to updating the schematic until now.

often the scratchy behaviour is from the carbon track smoking. i just did it the other nite by accident, was so cool i did it a few other times. pot still works, but beginning of the track is wonky as hell!!

Always loved this circuit. It's great for combining with other effects that needed gain and sustain like the Green Ringer.

I was always frustrated that I couldn't get it to do Gated or Splatty sounds like Ge Fuzzes though.

your legato chops are killer ;)

i love the envelope of the fuzz, how it compresses and expands. very very nice!! i love that "backwardsy" feel it gets on sustained notes.
nice work bro!!

Gus

Ben
are the collectors around Q1 1.6VDC and Q2 6 to 7VDC?

Ben Lyman

Gus, I haven't measured Q1 since it was on the bread but Q2 is about 5v, I was trying to get close to 4v5 because it seemed to sound the best around there when it was on the bread.
