Hi i've just breadboarded this and I get a signal with the circuit but it just seems too clean?? like none of the controls do much except for gain and volume.

Using 5kb instead of a 5kc for stab pot also

I've had problems with pnp germaniums on breadboard. I've been getting motorboating and nasty crackling, probably due to bad contact of maybe bad isolation between rows.

What you describe sounds more like an error though. Can you post a picture of what's on your bb?
