Best Approach for mutiple PT2399 tap tempo control?

I am playing with multiple PT2399s circuit recently. So far I am quite satisfactory with the result. Just wonder what is the best approach for multiple PT2399 tap tempo control, or at least a tempo indicator? I know some solutions out there but most of them are for single chip only. Any thoughts?
