I was wondering of anybody has tried swapping the 100K feedback resistor for a Pot/vr?

If so how were the results?

This is what the 'pinch' pot does on a Zvex Wooly Mammoth (although the pot adds resistance over and above the 100k, as it's in series with it). Apart from that, it's a fuzz face with a tone control. It adds gating and 'velcro-yness' It also makes the lower gain sounds a bit more interesting. Have a look at some youtube videos and you'll see the effect it has.

Alternatively, it's only a 10 minute job on the breadboard!

We wouldn't try such a risky deed...!!!  :icon_eek:

If you try it on your breadboard (simulators refuse to accept it..), do it using a long wooden stick, on your own risk..

More seriously, altering feedback resistor value results in altering Q1 gain and also altering input impedance (signal loading)
(both in a relatively small portion..)
