Greetings. This seemed like the best forum to find a solution for this.

The snaps that hold 9volt batteries have been damaged. One of them has fallen off, and another has rusted due to battery acid.

Is there an easy way to fix this in order to use 9volt batteries with the Mu-tron III? Thanks in advance.

Are the physical hold-down brackets cleanable so you can bear to touch them?

Then bend-back the electrical contact brackets, cut-off the wires far enough back to avoid the rotten end of the copper, and splice two plain 9V connectors on. It adds a couple seconds to a battery change. You may want to cobble some brace so the battery doesn't slide-out when kicked.

You "can" find that type battery connector; "Keystone" used to be the main source. You would have to chew-out the rivets and do new fasteners. If you can't source an exact-same-as-1970 bracket that's new holes too.

Keystone makes way too dang many 9V snaps.

It seems to be a slight variant of Keystone 1290. But that comes in multiple forms. I got as far as this and figure you need to measure what you got and look-up the datasheets.

1290 * Steel
1290-66 * Aluminum
1290-79 * Steel
1294
1291
203-P
1291-79
1291-66
303-P
