I built this "Buffalo Pfuz" circuit after learning about it in a little documentary / movie called "Fuzz, The Sound That Revolutionized The World". A guy was was playing one and I thought it sounded pretty good, and thought I should build one. I don't care really for the fuzz sound but this one is a more mellow one, and it follows your picking dynamics amazingly well - which some people would call "amp-like".  This video details the process I used in making this one.
