I am having a problem with a DPDT stomp switch I used on a fuzz pedal I just built.  When I switch the pedal on, the sound is fine.  When I turn the pedal off, all of my sound it cut off and I can't hear anything.

Any ideas on what it could be?

How do you wired it?

Also you should check with a multimeter to see if the switch works fine. This things get burned very quickly when you solder on them.

I have it wired like the switch on the DIY FAQ.  You can see it here:

How would I check the switch with a multimeter?  I am a newbie and have only used my multimeter to check resistor values.

I always use the continuity checker on mine. It beeps if there is continuity between two places in a circuit, as long as the resistance is less than a couple hundred ohms. If you don't have a continuity checker on yours, you could try to measure resistance. If the switch is good, you should have infinite resistance between off/on poles.

Are you sure you don't have the switch rotated 90 degrees or something? If you don't, then maybe the switch is faulty.
