Transistor Leakage Question

What's the downside to using a transistor that has excessive leak?  How does it manifest itself?  Noise at the output? Additional distortion?

Answers all of your questions, more distortion I'm not so sure about.
 leaky ones, I dont think bias as well.
 I think it was the Meastro FZ1A someone was saying depends on the right' amount of leakage at Q1, and Q2 at least to get bias on it.
 Generally though low leakage is desirable I believe.
