Hi all,

I'm in the middle of building and have a questoin. I have some caps that I'm hoping are the right values. They are in MF and I am use to uF. The value on them says .1K could anybody tell me what that means in uF?

Thanks in advance,
Bill

uF stands for microFarad. So they should be the same. ;)
I don't like Holland. Nobody has the transistors I want.

That is what I was hoping. But just to make sure before I solder them in. A cap in MF rated .1k would be a .1 uF cap?

smoguzbenjamin

? 1K? Does it say "1K mF"? Cos that'd be 1 Farad. Which is improbable...

That's what's confusing me. It has 3 lines on it which are:

MF
250v
.1K

They are the caps that small bear sells if that helps at all.

Thanks again

check this page:

http://www.xtronics.com/Kits/ccode.htm

If I can read, you've got a 100 pF cap there with 10% tolerance.

But if the 'MF' means "read this in uF" then you've a 100uF cap with 10% tolerance.

Does the schematic mention 100uF cap where you're putting them?

Thanks again for your help,

I did look at that page too. I think the only relevant figures on this thing is .1k. Looking at SmallBears page again, I think they are the same as .1uF (I hope).

There are various types of ceramic used in ceramic caps, one has the code "K", might be what is going on here.
