Searched the forum but could not find these. I could have sworn there were some for like $30-$40 each....Of course I don't mind spending less ;O)
I have some for experimenting with now but I am running out of enclosures faster than ideas!
I have an idea for a sound in my head and have an idea of how to get there.
If/when this idea comes to fruition I will  post it here for my compadres to do themselves.
For now I'd like to keep it under my hat. Looking towards the future though where I might need some brandy new wah enclosure to house this idea.
As always big thanks to everyone here!!

Let me know if you find any... i need to build an LDR speed controller for my univibe.

Musician's Friend sells Rogue (sort of the musical equivalent of the grocery store's "store brand") Stereo Volume pedals for $20. I figure that's kind of cheap enough to buy just to gut if you really need an enclosure.   I lucked out and found 2 or 3 used Crybaby's for sale for around 10 bucks each.

on a similar subject, does anyone know where to find conductive-plastic potentiometers like in a wah pedal,  with a shaft long enough for the gear, but with different values than what you can normally get for wah pedals?

Cool deal on the rogues!
I guess I am getting way ahead of myself to be looking for ones to put a board in I don't know if will even work but it would be nice to know where they are if the time comes.
Here is a link to some wah mods... look toward the bottom about pots. It lists a plastic conductive bourns pot. I'll bet you can find a few other values of it. I think I have even seen them in my mouser cat while browsing.
Still looking for the unbranded wah enclosures though ;O)

The only problem with the rogues is that they are plastic.  You can get lots of various wah/volume type pedals broken off of ebay.  For example: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2369562892&category=41422

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2368906729&category=41422

Etc. etc. etc.

Expression pedals are also often cheaper.

What about the Carvin Wahs? I heard the chrome was so-so, but if you want the enclosure....

Where do you find the Carvin wahs? I remember Tim E. mentioning them some time ago, but I never found any at a suitable price.

same here. i had a valume wah pedal, picked up the worst station too...a hip hop/pop station. i only got it cause i got a free distortion pedal and a free shirt. the shirt is cool, but i sold the distortion pedal for 5.

a few years ago i toke the pedal off, sawed the bottem part in off (noting in it), wraped duck tape around it, and called it my home made equalizer. now, being a newbie to all this diy stompbox stuff, realize how dumb that was...i wish i still hade it. i would like to make an exprestion pedal.

Thanks. Call me "Mr. Obvious." :)

My assumption was that there were some bargain cheapie models. Less than $50. Maybe not.

Well, anything new you find under $50 probably won't have a good metal casing, like the Rogues.  I thouhg tthe Carvin Wahs were under $50, but I haven't looked in quite a while.  Honestly, the only good thing I've found so far is buying broken or used wha or volume pedals off of ebay or Harmony Central.  Watch out for the shipping charges on ebay, though.  They really can impact the cost of a seemingly cheap pedal.  Someone really out to manufacture wha shells for a reasonable price.  That'd be nice.

So there is not a place to buy new empty wah rocker pedals?
I could have sworm there were some but they just so damn expensive that it usually would be better to buy a rogue or carvin...maybe it was even cheaper. Still if I really was able to make this sound in my head into a box I would really consider making a few to sell. There is nothing that soubnd like that....of course that is probably a good indicator for me that it is impossible....LOL!

They can be had for wads of cash by calling the Jim Dunlop sales Department at 800-722-3434. They are $36 for the rocker top and $36 for the bottom. The rest of the mechanical parts you need are found on the parts page: http://www.jimdunlop.com/site/support/faqs/elec_parts.html. So for more than eighty dollars you could do it.

If your time is too valuable to spend it bidding on Ebay, you would be money ahead by simply buying a brand new Original Crybaby for $69.99, at you local music store and ripping the guts out.

DAMN!!!!!    Uh, ummm...uh geezuh....I ....I...I guess them carvins and funky new cheapos are all looking a lot better!

I could have sworn there was somwhere that had them for like 30-40 each....oh well I must have been dreaming...

Thanks!!!

Has anybody thought about trying and using old sewing machine speed control pedals?
