I put the Smash Drive circuit on my breadboard before coming to work (I work out of state), and I really like it.  I left the drive pot out of the circuit, wiring to two drive pins on the chip together instead.  Does this wiring give me the most drive possible, or does the pot add more?  Also, I read somewhere, in the archives I think, that someone wired two diodes on the volume pot to add more distortion.  Does this work good?  How would you do that?  I've got a few diodes, but the leads on 'em are too fat to push through my perfboard or my sockets.  Wiring them on a pot would be a whole lot easier.

Thanx.
Life is like a box of chocolates.  You give it to your girlfriend and she eats up the best pieces and throws the rest away.

You can put em right on the volume pot [simple version] lugs 1&3.
that's the same as: from signal output to ground.
If you hav ethe tone control in there you could put them right before that signal to ground.
Checkout a buncha AMZ articles, there's info there about all this, also simple mods and tips...
