SMALL STONE TRANSISTORS

HY FRIENDS,
I FINISHED THE SMALL STONE CLONE BUILDING AND.......... IT DOESN´T WORK. IT SOUNDS, BUT THE VOLUME IS VERY LOW AND THERE´S NO PHASE SHIFT, ONLY A BIT OF DISTORTION AND HISS, NOTHING MORE.
I USED BC549 FOR 2N5088 AND BC560 FOR 2N5087. iS IT RIGHT? WHAT´S THE BETTER OPTIONS SINCE I DON´T HAVE THE TONEPAD STOCK TRANSISTORS NUMBERS?
ANOTHER THING: THERE ARE 11 2N5088 AND 3 2N5087. DOES IT MEANS THAT Q1 TO Q11 ARE 2N5088  AND Q12 TO Q13 ARE 2N5087 ON THE BOARD LAYOUT?

But if this is any help.
 The board layout shows the transistors polarity with the  little arrows in the transistor. three are opposite to all the others, in which way the arrow points out of the circle.
