I think this guy is Japanese.  I have had many music instrument dealings with folks from Japan and for some strange reason they seem to have either plenty of money to throw at this stuff or if they want something they just get it and eat noodles for a while till they get what they want.  They are seriously powerful buyers.  Japanese mentality is "Bring only the best or the most collectable to the homeland"  They don't screw around on buying stuff.  It says the buyer is in USA but they carry that mentality everywhere they go.

well... I'm sure there are big time collectors w/lots of expendable cash, but there are still lots of people that don't necessariliy have to have the 'best of the best'. But I suppose there is some of what you are talking about--an example might be for-japan-only PC mobos w/higher quality alu electrolytics used throughout or special edition mobos or video cards--maybe a bit of a fixation on specs.
