Here are other options for getting parts for DIY tube amps like the AX84:

Old console stereos, old film projectors, PA amps, even old record players and tape decks. The only warning is, make sure the 'doner' equipment has a power transformer to isolate the line voltage completely from the chassis. If you see a tube configuration like 12AX7, 50L6, 35W4, it's a safe bet there is no power transformer. In this case, the filiments are likely hooked in series directly to the line.
