Dear everyone,

i'm about to start build the another one Fx pedal.I trying to build Boss DS-1
and i don't have the trans 2N5088.Before i start it,can some of you who ever build this great pedal especially DS-1 by tonepad (Fp) try to replace the trans 2N5088 to 2N3904 or 2N2222 to see it result (experiment). Is it  became better or worse. :?:

Socket it and try the transistors you have until you like the sound.

I don't think the bias voltages on those three transistors are the same. You will need to pull up the spec sheets and compare transistors then adjust the bias accordingly.

2n5088/89 - http://www.fairchildsemi.com/ds/2N/2N5089.pdf  Vce=5V

2n3904 - http://www.fairchildsemi.com/ds/2N/2N3904.pdf  Vce=1V

2n2222 - http://www.fairchildsemi.com/ds/PN/PN2222A.pdf  Vce=10V

If I am reading these specs wrong please let me know because I'm learning too.
