That's great :D

I haven't used perf before.

Thanks to Bill and ROG :P
Oh yeah!

zener- You should give perf a chance. Everybody now, "all we are saying is give perf a chance." I heard that was the original title, but Yoko made John change it...

I started my first perf project with the NPN Boost right here on DIY Stompboxes. (Thanks Aron!) A few Runoffgroove projects later, I'm very comfortable using perfboard. Brian and Gary really do a service to the casual DIYer like me. Their site really takes the fear out of drawing your own layout.

On a side note, I spent an afternoon with a former student, now in middle school, working on his own Whisker Biscuit. I taught him how to solder and use Runoff's layouts and once we wire up the bad boy, he'll be the coolest rocker in 6th grade!

By the way, nice clean pcbs Bill! Thanks!

Yeah, one of these days. :P  Especially now that ROG is pouring out some very good amp emulations, I'm already thinking to go perf, but not all the time, of course.
Oh yeah!

How do you make sure the layouts are printed the correct dimensions in that format?

Although B Tremblay said that it would be zoomed out 25%, I would just rely on trial-and error by measuring printouts against actual components.
Oh yeah!

Sorry, I should have included dimensions. Printing at 25% should work. The resistors are spaced at about 3/10th of an inch which is tight (the way I like it) but if you need more room you could print it a little larger.

By the way, if anyone wants my English Channel you can have it...free (sorry domestic only....because of shipping cost). Populated board only, I'm keeping the box, pots and switches to try another amp sim from ROG.

Bill Bergman

Yikes!!! I just remembered....
Make sure you check the Jfet orientation if you use my layouts. I just pasted the symbols in with no reguard for the flat side of the T0-92 foot print.

I've got the 'Matchbox' pcb layout done, if you'd like that. It's actual size and I have the parts layout too.
As always, I prefer to have an extra set of eyes to look over it as I haven't actually built it yet.
