My first finished fuzz, from way back

I went back to my first fuzz, and I remember being floored that it worked on first fire-up.  Now that I think about it, it's kind of quiet.  Its an NPN silicon Fuzz (no germanium, i know, but what can i do with limited funds?) it just seems rather quiet, even at full fuzz and volume.

Any remedies?  Would the added tone knob steal volume?  Or am I just being a spazz?  I'm thinking i could add a gain stage from the black fire or something, is that ok?  Peace, love, n thanks!

Yes a tone knob network, being passive, will use gain, FF will sound too quiet, there is not enough gain to drive the passives and come out at unity.
Convention creates following, following creates convention.

If you have a 330 ohm resistor in there, swap it for a 470.

Then measure the voltage on the collector of the second transistor to make sure it's still between 4.5 and 5 volts. You may need to adjust the collector resistor.
