Hi.

I have built a couple of my own distortion stomp boxes. Although i enjoy all of them they are all more in the fuzz/buzzy direction (which is great) however i am wondering if there are any out there that lean more into the metal sound of things (just for some variety). Maybe somethign with a colder sound. as opposed to a warm fuzz.

i have built the follwing distortions:

whisker biscuit, muff pi (well alittle modded), ugly face, guv'nor.

if i could id love to find somethign really over the top and underproduced sounding. maybe somethign similar to the early emperor sounds . i have 2 guitars with high output pickps anda jcm 800 so i thinkim almost there. (dimarzio x2n and emg 85)

any help is appreciated.

THANKS.
scott.

Joe Davisson's Obsidian, there you go. Don't forget the Blackfire and the Vulcan, too.
Oh yeah!

Build a booster pedal to boost your jcm800.

You need an EQ pedal.  Try the Danelectro one, I think it's called the Fish & Chips, for $29 you can't go wrong.  Set the EQ in a "V" shape, put the gain all the way up and chug away.

The Transistor Obsidian is what you want.

Joe doesn't have the transistor Obsidian on his site anymore. PM me with your email and I'll send you a file of it.
