cassette-o-plex?

has anybody a cassette-o-plex schematic or layout?
how does it work? unfortunately the site it was on is down ( http://www.geocities.com/cemaynard1134/sound.htm )
anybody ever built/listened to one of these?

the pot is used to control the voltage and in turn the speed as it is connected to the motor. 8)

ok, very interesting...thanks :)

so...basically you have 2 cassettes modified to form one big cassette, and 2 tape decks cut open pointing to each other.
i understand the right one, with the trimpot to vary the speed of the motor...but...the left motor would have to be disconnected, otherwise there would be two motors playing the tape...and that would be no good ;)

what would one do when the tape is at its end-position? rewind it?
since this would equal a 2-head tape machine there is no head left for erase...

i think it might be easier and a lot more stable to build additional heads in a normal tape player than to have 2 of them standing next to each other.
