ProCo Rat D

Hey everybody!  Has anyone of you built This ProCO Rat distortion? I would like to know something more about this device - your opinion. And the last : can someone show me where are sound clips of this Rat?

 got to have the compensated OA for this build.
 Other than that it's like building an OA clipper...
 I built one, the tone knob didn't quite have the right taper or something, other than that I did a side by side, A/B Real/DIY  Rat tests, they were different, but close in severity of clipping, as expected. Of course I modded mine, the other one was a switch repair job.
 Good solid Rat Distortion, always reminded me of the Cream song "Pressed Rat and Warthog".

There's a clip on tonefrenzy.com, IIRC. Rats sound like a cranked Fender to me. More than overdrive, not quite full distortion. I'm thinking I may make one my next project, but that depends on what eBay produces in the next week or so. :lol:
