I lurk a lot but don't post a lot because I haven't started my small project yet and don't know anything but I needed to find something out.  This is really more angled towards guitar electronics but I thought I'd ask all the here since you guys are very knowledgable and are bound to know.

Is there such a thing as a capacitor socket? Like an IC socket but for caps so I can easily change out the cap on my tone control unitl I find what I like.

Circuit Specialists carry a 40 pin snappable socket that's great for that type of thing. I think Small Bear Electronics also carries them.

I use strips of at least three, but the middle is easier to find and the socket is more secure when four pins mount it in the perf.
 I used to use only two pins for connections, but found using four pins to physically mount the socket increases strength enough, considering I'll likely be pushing and pulling on it some, had some trubbles with using only two, better sockets and board may be sufficient...[the stiff pin type>l]

You can also snip off pieces of regular IC pin sockets. I ordered a bunch of 14 pin sockets from Smallbear, but actually needed 16 pinners, so the 14 pinners will be sacrificed in the name of good tone.
