Well, I got it done last night. It sounds great! Beautiful clean tones with my Sylvania 12AU7 in it. You can read about it here:

Thanks Fret Wire.  8)
It came out pretty neat for not really having a plan...

Now that I know how this back to back transformer thing works, I think I will try my 6SJ7 project next.

Have it in an enclosure now:

This project is more or less going to be a "studio fixture", so that was my approach with the case that it's in. I may add some small plastic amp corners to it. And, I might add a bypass switch, too.

Soundclips coming in the next few days.

Thanks JD.

It's hard to get an accurate picture of how that covering looks. It looks really more like this in living color:

But the goldish color is a little more pronounced.

It will probably be Sat. or Sun. evening before I can get to the soundclips. Have a conference at church and I have to play Friday night, Saturday and Sunday...

OK, here are a few soundclips:

I tried to get the clean soundclip as small as possible, but it's still fairly large and it clips a little here and there. The original soundclip has no clipping at all.

BTW, Fred Nachbaur, the designer of the McTube, wrote me back and complimented me on my implementation of it. Kinda cool...  8)
