Does any one know what this circuitboard is? It was given to a friend of mine. That big electro cap is 1000uf 25v. The 14 pin chip is a mc14541bcp.
Thanks in advance!

I just depopulated an old household security system board that looks suspiciously like your board. Don't quote me, though.    :?

looks like a doomsday device  , but I haven't seen one for ages...
DIY XOR die.

Do you know what area the application is? That section at the bottom with the big cap and 4 diodes looks sort of like a power section, but there's not too much there to suggest it does something by itself; it's probably some part of a larger system (household security?). In short, I'm not sure :D

That 14-pin thing is a CMOS timer chip. Some of the surrounding caps and resistors is associated with that.

Hope that helps a little :)

So it's definitely not some pedal of some sort?

Paul Perry (Frostwave)

If it IS a pedal, it's a distortion..... in the tradition of the sorely-missed Hemmo
I think it is either home security or lighting. Home security often runs on 16v AC.
