Hi, my name is JD and I post stompbox layouts on the internet.

<everyone chat together in a low voice "Hi JD">

Another in a long line of my horrifying, unethical, thieving, dirty rotten scoundrel projects is posted here:

I'm sorry, I can't help myself,

PS - I hope no one is offended by my attempt at humor prompted by a couple of the recent threads, I'm just trying to have some fun. and kep it light.

Cool! I never did get mine to work. I see there is a couple added components. I can't wait to see if I can get it working. Thanks for posting this Jsleep.

"Hi JD" < in a low voice >

so finally some people joint their creative ability to erase a faulty, often copied schem from the web...

...no, wait: now there are 2 schems available...

here`s looking at upcoming questions: " I built the hifimudda from pageX on the board from pageY - their schem is wrong"

or: "I corrected pageY`s layout, so that it suits the older (=better) schem which I found years ago on pageZ - still I can`t get it to work"

:P

Ha ha!

Very nice JD! Even separate layouts for different transistor pinouts!

One tiny note, the original used an audio taper speed pot wired upsidedown for a reverse audio action.

I sure hope Mongo can get his working. His flayed original made this possible!

Let's all thank JD for shiring his progress with us.
Keep up the super job, JD!
Your site got me started!

You dirty, rotten scoundrel.

I might have to build this one just for fun. But, I am cutting back on building stuff, though. I need to make a concerted effort to become a better player and quit screwing around with building stuff so much...

i need copper blanks  :x  :x  :x

you should be able to strip those from power supplies too :-D

(like most of my parts)

Pure Tube & Dan,

I forgot to mention your names as you two sus'd out the problems with this beast.

Thanks so much for helping me clear a tiny spot off on my work bench off ;-)  I do try to make corrections to all the stuff posted on my site and everything is marked with version numbers.  If there is confusion about schematics etc, all I can say is that I really try to get them to be error-free adn to avoid some of the confusion with version labels.

Mongo sent his HF mod stuff to me to see if I can get it working along with the original.  I'll check out the taper of that pot and make updates when I get it.

Thanks again,
JD Sleep

...that was joking  :lol: ;

but serious: for personal use, I often use the "inversed rotation"-method
for rate- and frequency pots, when no neg-log ones are available.
(have I seen this method lately in a multi-step volume-varying booteek pedal?)
Many pot manufacturers do however make neg-log pots (aka "reversed audio taper"), even though the parts-distributors
seldom list them in their catalogues (lack of demand...)

I like the "new look" with all relevant information packed into a single PDF.  Very helpful.  Many thanks.

Yeah, but has anyone heard this thing? Not pretty.

"Pretty" is in the ear of the beholder

Hey Ricky, weren't you the one praising the sound of that hideous psuedo octave fuzzed sound in a different thread?

Thanks Mark.  This is long overdue.  I like it too.  Takes a little more server space and a little more difficult  to maintain, but much easier to print and use and that's what counts.  It will probably take a long time to get all the projects converted, but all new projects from this point on will be PDF.

Yes, I'm a hypocrite, but what I was praising(I think) is the sound of a "Superfuzz", or my hideous little Guyatone "The Fuzz"(an ear-driller of the highest order). How does the one you've posted compare soundwise to that awful sample on Tone-Frenzy? Does it work better with a fuzz or something to boost it?

Regards
