Do the caps in a Fuzz Face need to be polarized??

There are two polarized caps in the Fuzz Face circuit, and I was wondering if they need to be polarized? Does the input cap need to be? I want to try the input cap blend mod and I have a mess of ceramic and film caps. Thanks!

no

I think it was in one of the FAQ's or the "what matters" thread.

you can substitute nonpolar for polar, but only somtimes polar for nonpolar.

Okay. I had read the FAQ and it did say that you could sub, but it just seemed strange to me. I mean, if you don't NEED polarized caps, why are they always in circuits? Thanks for confirming the info in the FAQ. I should learn to never doubt the FAQ!!!

Capacitors with values above 1uF are usually polarized electrolytics. They are cheaper and smaller than other caps of the same capacitance.
While the values of electrolytic capacitors go up to several thousand uF I don't think that You could find any with less than 0.47 uF.
