i'm having problems and i was hoping if someone would help...
basically this is it.. i built the Big Daddy distortion unit and the Little Gem unit (from runoffgroove) in the same pcb.. i added a trimmer pot in the middle so i could adjust a preset maximum output for the distortion section.. i also added a simple tone control pot after the Big daddy circuit and left pins 1 and 8 from the little gem's 386 unused... now i have problems with it.. i can hear the guitar sound trough it when i play, but when i stop.. the damn thing starts oscillating very loudly... the oscillation frequency changes when i turn the pots... help dudes!

Shielding, gain reduction, a rollof cap for highs...
Try just the amp part, does that seem to work right?
Sometimes these circuits interact 'funny'...386's Are easy to wire, seem a bit 'unruly' at times.
Mixing and matching circuits. Certain circuits work well with each other.
Maybe try a different distortion. Amp Sim or something [?]
Convention creates following, following creates convention.

i tried them first on perfboard.. i made the big daddy distortion and played it trough a little gem combo.. and it sounded very promising..
maybe one of the 386 circuits isn't working like it should.. well.. thanks anyway for replying.. i'll keep on experimenting with it..
