That's a really neat take on a comparitor / full wave rectifier in that schematic. :D Thanks for posting it.

So what exactly is Q2 doing as it switches at 1/2 of the fundemental?  Hmmm.... :)

it mutes/lets thru every second period of the (well-filtered) fundamental;

KORG had a similar, but less complicated oct-div pedal (similar principle),
to chop the signal at/to half its frequency, but maintaining the waveform and dynamics/envelope...

rumour has it, some freax are experimenting on similar stuff with updated components...
