Best way to check if a inductor is good w a DMM? Im new to using that. I ussually use the finger touching method.
"I think somebody should come up with a way to breed a very large shrimp. That way, you could ride him, then after you camped at night, you could eat him. How about it, science?"

Paul Perry (Frostwave)

The way an inductor fails, usually, is to go 'open circuit' ie to break. In which case, the resistance is infinite. Instead of well below 1k. So put the meter on the 1 or 2K scale & check the resistance.
That's assuming it's a wah inductor. A power supply inductor is lower resistance, the method is the same though.

finger toutching method ?

I guess if you _really_ wanted, you could put a sine wave function generator across the inductor, and measure AC current through it...to see that its not shorted or something :-D
