I just want to know what are common DC jacks to use (mouser part # if possible).  I'm reading a PDF from tonepad.com regarding offboard wiring, and they refer to DC power jacks, so I'm just curious as to which type works best. Thanks!

something plastic, isolated from the box!  Thats really the only important feature...as long as you're using negative tip, and negative ground, that is.  You probbaly want something chassis mount, also.

I'd like to know too.  I've bought Mouser 163-4302, works, but it is too big to drill a hole with my stepped bit.  Also, Mouser 502-722A, but it's metal and expensive.  I'm going to try the plastic one in small bear next.

The Kobiconn DC jack (Mouser #163-4302) is what Small Bear sells.

That's the standard isolated jack everyone uses. What I've never liked about it is that it mounts from the outside. The means you can't solder it into the circuit outside the box. You have to install every thing first, then solder. Not fun when you're using the 1590b.

The SDC-522 is nice because it mounts from the inside. You can solder up before you mount everything in the box. And no unsoldering if you want to remove the ckt for mods or box refinishing.

Those SDC-522s are exactly what I was looking for.  Too bad I Just ordered 25 of the other ones from Smallbear...

How much do they run?  THere's no price or where-to-buy on the site.

They don't sell retail, just to OEM's. You see them now and again in certain shops, but there're doesn't seem to be a steady online source. Hopefully, that should change soon.
