Sure.
(a) use low noise amplifying devices e.g. 2N5088/2N5089/MPSA18 or the equivalent in euro or Japanese series for bipolars, and low noise rated JFETs.
(b) use low noise metal film resistors in at least the first gain stage, if not all stages
(c) use low noise biasing techniques (I did a description on "noiseless biasing" in this forum, do a search)
(d) use new (not reclaimed) electrolytic capacitors with low leakage
(e) use good soldering practices to ensure no cold or partial-soldered joints

In response to the questions in the forum - PCB Layout for Musical Effects is available from The Book Patch. Search "PCB Layout" and it ought to appear.
