Hi all,
does anyone know any good Canadian electronic part suppliers (don't say futureactive electronics, becaue we have a branch and EVERYTHING is overpriced(25 cents per 1/4 watt resistor!)

All help is appreciated

Thanks

Paul Perry (Frostwave)

This came up before, try a search for Canada AND suppliers

Tiptop in Winnipeg? I find they are very good to deal with by mail order compared to some other companies, prices not "cheap" though, and you're probably quite familiar with them. Supremetronic in Toronto is very good - you have to fax the order, although you can make email inquiries. Main Electronic Supply in Vancouver also worth checking out. I find that it is usually worth the extra effort to order from US supppliers, even with the exchange rate and miscellaneous charges added on - keep the order under about 50 US and you probably won't have customs charges.

RP ELectronics in  B.C. Between them and Small Bear everything is covered. RP doesn't have pedal friendly transistors, chips and switches,  but everything esle is there- boxes, components (resistors, caps, diodes, LED's) and soldering tools.

I'm also from Canada so i'll tell you what sites I use.  I mostly use  http://www.digikey.ca for my parts.  It is a little expensive for some orders because of an extra charge they add if the order is not over $32.50.  Like someone already said RP Electronics is pretty good.

Check out places near a local university - the EE departments there always need parts, and they must get them from somewhere local.
