orange squeezer question

im running only my OS into my amp and im getting some slight distortion but just enough so that if i put any extra distortion onto it im getting noise but ive found that if i run it through the effects loop its totally clean. does anyone know whats happening here. its a marshall valve state if that helps

I had the same problm. I noticed if i adjusted the trim pot it went away..

a bit of confusion i see :lol:

TLO72 is an op-amp, not a JFET.

J201s? MPF102s?

I used MPF102s initially, but later I got my hands on some 2N5457s, and that made a difference. There was still a small amount of distortion, but not near as much as with the MPF102s. And as mentioned, adjusting the trimpot also has some effect, too. The Orange Squeuzer isn't exactly transparent...
