can anybody help the German "Gitarre & Bass" magazine
finding the source of the "Tycobrahe Octavia" schematic ?
(drawn by JD Sleep; Revision 2002-08-05).

The author writes in the september issue
he didn`t draw the schem himself this time
(in his monthly "effektiv" column),
but rather uses one from his software-library,
but unfortunately couldn`t trace the source anymore.

The author (Bernd C. Meiser)* can be mailed:
effektiv@gitarrebass.de

In the past he used layouts from tonepad and put his name on it :x

Yes, he once did a issue about the tubescreamer and therefor he took your layout. I mailed him and complained about it - but he just said the he couldn't trace it back where it came from. If you like to I can tell you the exact issue.

Thanks for all the information, Pure.  I've emailed him.

But doesn't the schematic have my name and the source right on the bottom? ;-)

It says "Guitar Effects Projects". No adress.

OT: There seems tobe a typo on the BSM-page... It says that the fuzzblenders current consumption is 600mA!

it`s exactly a reprint of the complete content of this page:
http://www.generalguitargadgets.com/diagrams/toctsc.gif
including the blue letters, and "volume" printed in green.

your drawing itself doesn`t contain an URL or email-address...

Yes, but if you do a google search for "jd sleep", or "guitar effects projects" the first thing that turns up is GGG. This guy must be a complete moron, or he's just pretending ignorance.  :(

BTW, did they also reprint the text: "permission refused for posting/serving this diagram from any site other than Guitar Effects Projects"?

ya asorry for me earlier post, but ya   of all the darn things to do when illegaly copying a schem, the worst is to copy the do not copy this schem. label. (dosne't the mag. have an editor who noticed that?) anyway, this happens in many more places. I've seen some small pedal shops that sell schems(in India) from places like your sites. When I make my pedals for sale, I make sure the boards in them are A) done by me and B) My own layout.

anywhoo, sorry for the wierdo posts.

Edit: I really am actually flattered that someone is actually noticing what I post. Thanks.

like I said: exact reprint of the contents of that page.....

It might be worth emailing the magazine editor and complaining.  If they realise that one of their contributors is plagiarising work and leaving them open to possible legal action they may not be happy bunnies.

A similar thing happened with one of the UK music magazines recently and they sacked the bloke (and issued an apology).

it seems like J.D. has granted the rights of reproduction/publishing to "Gitarre & Bass", when I look at page 36 of the oct. `04 issue...

I don't understand this.  I made it very clear to them that they do not have my permission to publish anything off my site.  Is there something in the "News" blurb about me that I misinterpreted?

`scuse my ignorance: which news-blurb (where? - I don`t have the current printed november-issue yet...)
