Hello.

Anyone tried the jacks from Banzai store: click
How do they compare to the Switchcraft ones (as they are a bit cheaper).

How about the matched Germanium transistors (AC128): click
Worth a purchase?

Thanks for replies

marrstians

i've tried ordering stuff from them a couple of times and never got anything... i think they might be out of business or something, i'm not sure...

LinuxMan

Shucks...

Just as I was looking forward for some cheap matched Ge trannies...

Oh well... Guess I'm gonna have to bite the bullet and get them for the usual
rate. ;)

I got lots of parts from Banzai they are not out of business..

Stuff the components, where do they get those enclosures and why dont they sell them on their own

The triple booster looks really pro ...

MartyMart

I've had AC128's from Banzai and lots of other parts, no problem !

If you want matching germs, just buy 25 or 50 of them on Ebay for example (like I did), and check them with the multimetre.
I had 12 of the 25 with a gain between 90 and 120. Most of the others were higher (probably leakage...), but are simply good for one-tranny stuff, like boosters.
Some of them I simply sold again ;-)
Even 5,5â,¬ is way to much for 2 trannies.
I still have about 15 AC128's, ready to be used, never to be bought again ;-)

You really should try building FF's with low gain, smooth overdrive "A" silicons. You'll be amazed why you want to grab so much out of your pockets for 2 germs.

Thanks for the replies.

BTW. What matched Ge transistors does SmallBear sells for fuzz faces?

I'm just making myself one effect with the Ge trannie. I know about the
silicons but I want to hear the difference for myself (and own one effect with
Ges in it).

Hey Linuxman,
are you from europe? I ask because Ge-Trannies can be bought by reichelt.de.
0.41â,¬ for a AC128

∇ ⋅ B = 0

Thanks tomboy.

Yes I'm from Europe. I Will try the store and see about those transistors.

LinuxMan

Whoa now that is one cool shop...

3080s for 0.5 EU, LDR for 0.43 EU plus those GE transistors... I only hope
they ship to my country...

It depends on where you are. Inside or outside the EU

I'm inside EU... But just noticed that a minimum order for my country is 100 Euro.

Darn... Such a shame.
