The tread about tranny sound makes me think...

Why not start a short period of dwelling with the BJT?
Volunteers can point their energy on searching and studying on BJT designs, pedals, amps... in order to compare and conlude.

I say the fuzz face is the starting point of course, but there are others.
Maybe I'll construct a classic AC127/AC128 class B power amp (about 0.5W) and try to get a nice overdrive sound out of it. We'll see...
