I had never seen this page before, and was quite intrigued. Particularly by the VFD Ring Modulator:

Junk/Salvage collecting of parts is not real practical for me, but I might start harvesting some VFD displays where possible.

Depends on what it is that you are salvaging, I guess. I like the challenge of finding a way to recycle what most people consider junk...
