Found this stuff at "Homebase", its a UK "DIY" store.
Its called "Kleberfolie"  from a German company "Alkor"  kind of a sticky backed plastic,  its VERY sticky but you could use a bit of epoxy or superglue to be sure of a permanent fix.
Its quite thick, doesnt scratch unless you take a sharp edge to it and you need to put some heavy books on a section for a while to flatten it out, as its rolled up quite tight.

Looks really good, i hope the photo does it justice ?
It looks like a "Steel Chrome" version of the MESA BOOGIE V-Twin.
I trimmed it with a large "School'  paper slice, to within 2mm of the box edges but a steel ruler and sharp knife would do.
Cost ?  the same as a can of spray paint, there's enough to cover about 50 BB box's !!

not sure whether i like the real stuff or yours better... at least with the hammond you dont have to worry about cutting wood, and RF interference isn't a problem!!!

all i need now is a supplier for the hammonds

That steel box does look  ****in great !
But as a cheap and real nice covering, i can handle plastic a little easier!!
