Tremolo?

In the Kill Bill 1 song Bang Bang by Nancy Sinatra its a great guitarsound, is that a tremolo or..?

And an other question, how do you do the labels on metal you see on all the pictures of stompboxes on this site??

Yeah, that's tremolo. If I recall correctly, there's also some places where the guitar signal might clip or get lo-fi, but the actual effect used is just some standard tremolo that doesn't get completely cut off.
