EH Toroidal Transformers- what are its uses?

I was wondering what uses there are for this thing? Maybe the Tychobrahe? But what else?

Are you talking about the 230VAC ones?  Those are for tube pedals.

A toroidal transformer looks like a "doughnut" instead of the regular "cube" made out of E and I laminations that are more common.
Toroidals have a smaller magnetic field around them (or project less) and that makes them specially suited for low noise applications.
In a nutshell that's the diff.
